Search for whales
Twice a year you have the possibility to see whales in Costa Rica. During the months July, August and September and during the months December, January and February the humpback whale can be found in the national park Marino Ballena in Uvita. It is unique in the world: twice a year in one place. In July, August and September the whales travel here from the south, during the other period they come from the north. Here are the waters warmer, calmer and without predators. The moms for example wait until their babies are big and strong enough before they move on again. There is also the possibility of seeing dolphins and turtles and you can swim and to go snorkeling.
