The accommodation is featured with two lodges and offers a place to camp. The lodges are located under the trees and have a view at the river. In order to really get in touch with nature the construction of the lodges is open, this is also good for ventilation. All mattresses are ergonomic so there is no lack of sleep quality. Bed linen and towels are inclusive and you will sleep with the protection of a mosquito net. Every casita has its own sink, toilet and shower located next to the casita in a separate small building. The sanitary facilities are provided with water from a source close to the lodge and will be a welcome refreshment with the warm temperatures.
In the casita there is a fan, a small light and a place to charge your phone. We will provide solarlights as well. The water comes directly from its source and is not heated, but considering the temperatures it is a nice way to cool down.
Both lodges are featured with a king size bed. There is netting in front of the windows.
The climate is hot and humid. In general the temperature drops in the afternoon to a pleasant temperature for the night. The rainy season runs from May to October, but during the months December to April there is still regular rainfall. It’s green all year.
The rancho is a place to relax. Make yourself comfortable in one of the hammocks and read a book or play a game together at the table.
Directly next to the lodge are hot springs. They are easy to access for guests of Calathea Lodge because of the location
and the collaboration with Eco Termales Quepos. The entrance is not included in the stay.

“The hosts Anouk and Eliseo were very welcoming and accommodating. The place is quite remote (therefore quiet) and very well integrated into the natural surroundings (e.g. view on the river from the tipi). There are also thermal springs 50 m away from the tipis and we had the possibility to enjoy their tranquility in the evening all by ourselves.”

“Amazing community of animals, families and birds to wind down in. Loved the natural slide.
Holidays that remind you of your childhood are the best.”
Quote from our guestbook
“We loved the experience of staying in a tipi in the forest, relaxing in the hammocks and listening to the sounds of nature. Enjoyed day and night in the hot springs, particularly at night with candlelight and all to ourselves . Eliseo and Anouk were very helpful and friendly hosts. The restaurant had great food. Would definitely recommend to anyone with a bit of an adventurous side.”
